Since 2008, Robert M. Van Geons has served as Executive Director for “RowanWORKS, Economic Development,” (www.RowanWORKS.com) a publicly funded 501 (c) 4, serving Rowan County, and its ten municipalities, including the county seat, the City of Salisbury.  As Executive Director, his primary purpose is to facilitate the expansion and retention of existing industry while aggressively recruiting new non-residential development.  Prior to returning to Rowan County, Robert worked in both Economic Development and Land Use Management, primarily serving municipalities in Connecticut and North Carolina.  Since his return to Rowan County, RowanWorks has been directly involved in the creation and preservation of over 4,600 jobs and $1.4 billion of announced investment.
