Social Media Today posted a great article regarding marketing trends. With the implementation of Google Hummingbird, the marketing game has changed and will continue to do so. Marketing is getting multifaceted and more complex.
As you look toward your marketing plan, keep the following in mind.
According to a new survey commissioned by Adobe, advertisers are most interested in measuring ROI. Advertisers want to know how they are reaching customers, if their digital campaigns are working, proving campaign effectiveness, and demonstrating marketing return on investment.
Social + Video
“Social Media Marketing is projected to be the most important area to marketers over the next three years, ranking significantly ahead of other areas like digital advertising,” says Christopher Carfi.
Video is a major game changer for advertisers as well. According to Pew Research:
- 78% of adult internet users watch or download online videos, up from 69% in 2009;
- The percent of online adults using video-sharing sites has grown from 33% to the current figure of 72%;
- The percentage of adult internet users who post videos online is growing rapidly.
Analytics are Awesome
Google Analytics: It’s free. It is awesome. Your webmaster can plop it right into the code of your website to trace audience, page views, demographics, location, technology used, and more. You can also track “referrals” to your website to see if your digital advertising is making an impact.
Facebook Insights: Be sure to claim your business’s Facebook page if you haven’t already. Use Facebook Insights to see your demographic, how your posts are performing, and more.
There are other tools you can use for analytics as well. Twitter and Pinterest allow you to claim your listing and verify your business to monitor traffic and engagement.
